A fantastic display The best we’ve ever seen Take it away! And Wesley stalks the corridors Looking sweet, feeling finer There is none finer! And the feeling is getting stronger More divine, all the time All the time, all the time, all the time All the time, all the time, all the time All the time, all the time, all the time Only a shadow! And the outfit continues On the floor Just a little spill Just a little spill Count to ten backwards for me would you Would you count to ten backwards for me would you? Would you count to ten backwards for me would you, Would you count to ten? (The best we’ve ever seen) The best we’ve ever seen The grand conjunction An accident, an accident waiting to happen The feeling’s getting stronger More divine. We’re approaching the end now, And we’re approaching the end.

Irrepressible, unavoidable Embarrassment You’re seated at the table What did you bring? There’s a seat at the table What did you bring? Irrepressible, unavoidable Irrepressible, attainable

On A String 01:53
It’s moving around On a string A million times a million descriptive opportunities Paraphernalia upon Paraphernalia upon Paraphernalia: Quick, let’s get started. Looming, looming, Let’s get started, Quick let’s get started On a string. Committed to the moment The obvious What you can get away with You can get away with Repetition
4.
George Blake 03:04
George Blake passed away sometime yesterday How little do you have to do? Outside the capital George Blake passed away He left another life behind George Blake passed away yesterday

Give em the lot No holds barred That was entertaining! Give em the lot No holds barred And none taken That was entertaining! Where’s the frequency? No idea what I am doing here Just give em the lot Just give em the lot No way of ever knowing No time again The cracks are showing The cracks are showing So give em the lot No conscience Uncertainty False idols Give em the lot Fallen down to the ground What are you gonna come up with now? There’s no story left There’s no story left Give em the lot There’s no story left Give em the lot

Are you well travelled? Not anymore And I can’t stand it. It was my time, not yours And I can’t stand it I can’t stand it. Through the valleys and to the mountaintops Not anymore And I can’t stand it I can’t stand it Were you excited when you took off? Three months, three years, That’s what I’m thinking of And I can’t stand it! And make the most of opportunity I can’t stand it Are you well travelled? Not anymore.

Everything was set in stone Pre ordained Before you came Before you even arrived there was a delightful slice of paradise Bearing your name You are the subtraction And you are the sum I am the crushed cheekbone Restless leg syndrome Before you came on the scene There was everything you’ve ever been Coming undone All this will happen again We are counting on it This will take place at some point in the future I am the ladder, I am the rung I am subtraction And I am the sum

21 Degrees 04:00
Professionally speaking We set the thermostat to 21 degrees The colour of the leaves And one of my plants is dying The other is thriving And one of your directions forward Stalled Professionally speaking The thermostat is set to 21 degrees And that’s an acute angle Yeah that’s a cute angle Yeah that’s a cute angle, 21 degrees Yeah that’s a cute angle 21 degrees You knew the slip was showing! But still you kept going. You knew the tyres were shredded Professionally speaking 21 degrees You knew And that’s a cute angle And that’s a cute angle

Patience please! Was he pushed? And did you get a notification? (Oooooh, I’m hoarding!) We lost the keys, it was a jump A jump and a skip Instant gratification (Oooooh, I’m hoarding) I’m just working for the weekdays I’m just trying to push that time away I’m just falling from the window There’s a performative aspect to everything you know Just keep pushing Just keep pushing Just keep pushing, pushing Pushing And I’m a pin cushion Stick a fork in me I’m done (Oooooh I’m hoarding) Satisfaction guaranteed No wrong answers When you’re putting it away as much as I do As much as I do Patience please! (increased capacity) Were you pushed? And did you get the notification? We lost the keys (ooooh I’m hoarding) But we found a way to instant Instant Instant gratification And I’m just working for the weekdays I’m just working for the weekdays Hoarding

High resolution, low definition You say you want a peaceful A peaceful transition And an end to prohibition There’s a high probability Of mutually assured destruction Corruption And here we go, anon Anon anon anon And here we go, anon Anon anon anon You’ve reached your final form Ascended to that final level Final level Low resolution, high definition And you say you want an end We’ll have to work together To reach a satisfactory arrangement Assortment And here we go, anon Anon anon anon And here we go, anon Anon anon anon Low definition, high resolution There’s an equal chance We’ll find the solution But it won’t be a solution High resolution, low definition You say you want a peaceful transition You say you want a full and frank admission You say you can’t live without it High resolution, low definition And here we go anon And on and on and on Plugging in, plugging out Here we go anon A failure of acknowledgement Let’s try something else.

about

*All profits from the sale of this record will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.*

This is a collection of stuff I created in the first four week(ends) of my installation "BEN SALTER IMPORT EXPORT at MONA in Hobart, Tasmania, from 26th December 2020 till 18th January. The first in a series. These are just the mixdowns I smashed out on the day(s), it hasn't been finessed, I think this is the best way. They might be released again or re-recorded or some other continuity nomenclature nightmare but for now this is where I am at. The songs are presented in roughly chronological order eg things I recorded first come first and so on and so forth. A limited edition of 15 cassette tapes will be available for sale at the Mona store during MONA FOMA (22-25th January).
