about

Mistakes (with Warren Mason) 6:02
Got my friend and Mainlanders band mate Warren Mason into the studio on the third weekend to weave some of his truly remarkable magic. He was my first guest. He bought his dulcimer in (amongst other things) and it was the first time I’d tried to close mic a quiet acoustic instrument. The bloody ping pong table was immediately apparent, I am not sure who’s decision it was to put it there, probably Jarrod the curator, he’s really got it in for me. Our benevolent dictator David (Walsh) loves ping pong and claims to be quite good at it, just stand somewhere near him for five minutes and he’ll probably tell you all about it. Anyway I was a bit frustrated cause Warren is amazing and I wanted to do his stuff justice. We recorded a few more things without dulcimer and they sounded good. But after he left I went back to this one and did some vocals and even with the ping pong ambience it sort of works. Lyrics are about trying to record songs in public. Cheer up mate.
